#100 — Nom, Nom, Nom!

100-nom-nom-nom

So I’ve been tagging the old strips to make it easier for you guys to find and read the things that interest you, but I needed to take a break and pop in here real quick.

Ya see, what you see above this post is something that we never anticipated was going to happen. Wiik Sauce #100. Sure, everyone makes a big deal about doing 100 strips, but c’mon. Its my first web comic, and we’ve only had one strip out of the entire 100 come late, and that was due to circumstances beyond our control. And that was only a few hours late, so I’ve personally never considered it to be a “late comic”, per se.

I’ve certainly enjoyed writing it, and I know Skwerl has had a great time doing the art, especially on stuff like Metroid, and the final panel of today’s strip. (Seriously, so excited for you guys to see this one. I think I’ve knocked out the best Wiik Sauce so far for #100. Happy accidents.) Its been a long, bizarre trip, but we’ve made it, and I’m proud to say the quality hasn’t suffered in the slightest.

There’s a lot of stuff planned in the future. At least two really big games are going to be touched on soon. Those who were fans of the Mario arc, fear not. Princess Peach’s pseudo-final fate will be revealed soon, as we near the conclusion of the first overall story arc of Wiik Sauce, and find ourselves jumping right into another one.

We’ve also got a huge, huge project related to Wiik Sauce coming up soon. We’re finally going to be touching on the aforementioned Interludes, which was mentioned way back in Wiik Sauce #50. I hope you guys are speculating and excited, because The Interludes project is going to be a wonderfully fun storyline.

We’ve mentioned a crossover with the main SCC strip, and yes, I am working on that, but its very much in the back of my head. I don’t really want every storyline to be the “next big event”. After the Interludes and its ensuing storyline, Wiik Sauce will likely take a lighter fare and spend some time lampooning video games. Not to say that we’re going to fall into a rut and become other web comics. Wiik Sauce has a unique formula that offers a unique point of view, and the chance to touch on new humor in games.

I hope you guys have enjoyed the past 100 strips. As long as you keep loving them, I’ll keep writing them.

Oh, and leave comments, dammit!

Extra stuff!

Before I sign off on this triple sized Comic Update comment thingy, let me go ahead and tell you that I feel gamers have won a huge overall victory, in that Jack Thompson is probably going to be disbarred. Don’t forget, everyone else made fun of him…we made him evil!
