Skwerl informs me the Pokemon trainer seen in this strip is Erika, at least according to Skwerl.
Also, you probably didn’t know that Racoon is a famed web comic artist and expert crocheter, did you? Well, now you have it. And besides, he’s been topless for a bit. Bet he’s cold and whatnot.

Oh, boy… They’re very unlucky: Erika is a Gym Leader, and is supposed to be a very though enemy… Well, at least they didn’t crossed the path of Lance!

You do realize what this means right? This means that a group of real pokemon poachers/bandits are going to be included- aka Team Rocket and etc. and you guys are going to run into more obstacles such as “other” pokemon getting in the way… hence in most of episodes, not only do you run into problems with other people trying to battle you out, but other creatures and mother nature.
