#151: The Interludes, Part 2
I know, I know. “Chris, this isn’t epic OR dark!” Well, just chill out. It gets there.
I have, for once, the entire story plotted out on my dry erase board. Yup, secret’s out. Most of Wiik Sauce is played by ear. But The Interludes has been a year in the making, and as a result, its probably going to be one of the tightest produced stories to date.

What do you mean isn’t dark or epic? This is a character who gives you a thumbs up and saves cute small animals at the end of a stage. And here we have him confused, and convinced these are the minions of an egg-shaped nemesis which must be destroyed!

Jeb, the story could really be divided into 3 beats. Skwerl knows a good bit about the first beat that he’ll agree with me, the story gets darker. But what Skwerl doesn’t know is it gets much darker after all that.
Seriously, I think my goal is to just make Nintendo hate me.

Oh, totally. Parts 6-8 are so dark, they’re just 6 black panels.
However, Part 8, Panel 6 is just Mario wearing the aviators while riding a surfboard and playing a guitar, and there’s a huge pot leaf behind him.

See, what people don’t know about Chris is that he’s not really a white guy from Georgia. He’s actually a black man from the other side of the moon. So he knows dark.
